The Stargate was unearthed in Giza, Egypt in 1928. This strange ringed device was discovered to be capable of transporting creatures and objects millions of light years across the galaxy via an unstable wormhole created between two gates.
When it was discovered in 1994 that there were grave threats in the Universe, in the form of the Goa’uld System Lords, the United States established Stargate Command. Stargate (SG) teams were initially created to travel through the Gate to assess threats, open negotiations with other civilizations, and procure technology to defend Earth. The SGP (Stargate Phoenix) program would bring together and train freedom fighters from worlds oppressed by the Goa'uld System Lords, and train volunteers from those worlds and cultures, that would choose freedom and knowledge over oppression. The newly established Phoenix Team SG-13 will undergo their new missions through the titular Stargate, explore previously unseen worlds, and unravel a unique story as only CtrlAltCrit can offer! Steelguard Series

100 years ago, Sazor the Decayer was finally defeated, and the Orb of Necromancy wrested from his dying grasp. He had become nigh unstoppable with the orb in his possession, that any humanoid who died within 1 mile of it became an undead warrior in the service of Necromancer Sazor.
A thousand Golems were built and sent against Sazor while the remaining warriors of the nation states made a gambit attacking one of Sazor’s outer strongholds. The golems were successful in their mission, though the cost, both in lives and resources, was enormous. To ensure the safety of the realm, each nation declared that a new order should be formed, the Steelguard Wardens, to safeguard the orb from falling into nefarious hands a second time. With an intricate Stronghold in a secret desert locale to protect The Orb of Sazor, all parties involved in its construction would serve the remainder of their lives within its walls. The nation states are still recovering from their catastrophic losses but continue to provide the Wardens with new recruits and resources when necessary. Most who knew how to find the stronghold could never make their way in. And those conscripted, or who dared enter, could never leave. And yet... Rumors of undead surface every few years. The first few times were investigated with fervor years ago, but now, the reports go uninvestigated... Resources are needed elsewhere, and who is left to validate that the rumor is just a rumor? |

A strange sense of unease and disquiet fills the prosperous city of Maliborough; a chain of events have led to heresay of fearful whisperings, of a recent earthquake, people going missing, imported crops causing illness, and unusual, terrible sounds at night.

Our four cast members, Garan, Hank, Tedlington and Thad, alongside the young mage Erwin, will slowly unravel the mysteries of both Maliborough and Myrefall, and to their detriment, answer the question that plagues them in the first hurdle of their journey...
