The Stargate was unearthed in Giza, Egypt in 1928. The device was brought to the United States in 1939 to keep it out of Nazi hands and was installed deep beneath Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado. This strange ringed device was discovered to be capable of transporting creatures and objects millions of light years across the galaxy via an unstable wormhole created between two gates.
When it was discovered in 1994 that there were grave threats in the Universe, in the form of the Goa’uld System Lords, the United States established Stargate Command. Stargate (SG) teams were initially created to travel through the Gate to assess threats, open negotiations with other civilizations, and procure technology to defend Earth. After contact was made with distant Earth descendants, which were under the control or influence of the Goa’uld, SG team visits were often a spark that lit the spirit of freedom of these subjugated worlds. As more of these worlds began to rise up, another classified SG program, separate from the primary SGC, was authorized by the President. The SGP (Stargate Phoenix) program would bring together and train freedom fighters from worlds oppressed by the Goa'uld System Lords, and train volunteers from those worlds and cultures, that would choose freedom and knowledge over oppression. The newly established Phoenix Team SG-13 will undergo their new missions through the titular Stargate, explore previously unseen worlds, and unravel a unique story as only CtrlAltCrit can offer! |
